ZOLOTOW, NINA. About her life, Ms. Zolotow has only this to say: A woman I know—a somewhat bitter single mother—well, she took her husband back after he had left her, then they had another child, and then he left her again—said to me, “Of course, you like to read and write quirky, on the edge fiction because you have such a nice, peaceful domestic life, while my life is so quirky and on the edge that the only way I can get a nice, peaceful domestic life is by reading about it...”—hmmm, did I just write another story?
